# How to add a CC or BCC to an email

> Add CC and BCC recipients in the HireData Send Email task Settings tab so additional people receive a copy of the outgoing message.

*When you send an email in HireData, you can add **CC** and **BCC** recipients so other people receive a copy. You add them in the last step of the Send Email task. The steps below work the same for both CC and BCC.*

<Note>
  **CC vs BCC:** CC (carbon copy) recipients are visible to everyone on the email. BCC (blind carbon copy) recipients are hidden from the other recipients.
</Note>

## Step 1: Open the Send Email task

Open the **Send Email** task in your automation. A drawer opens on the right, with the steps listed along the top.

## Step 2: Go to the last step and open Settings

Go to the **final step** (the last one, usually Step 6 or 7) and click **Settings**. In the list you will find the **CC** and **BCC** sections.

</Frame>

## Step 3: Add a recipient

Click the **+** (plus) next to **CC** or **BCC**. A **Name** and an **Address** field appear.

<Warning>
  Both the **Name** and the **Address** must always be filled in.
</Warning>

## Step 4: Fill in the Name and Address

For each field you have two options:

1. Click the **arrow on the right** to choose one of your default (saved) addresses, or
2. Fill it in yourself: click the field, type the name or email address you want, then click the **Create** option that appears below it.

</Frame>

Once both fields are filled in, the recipient is added. Use the **–** button next to an entry to remove it.

<Tip>
  This works exactly the same for both **CC** and **BCC**. Use the section you need.
</Tip>
